CFD stands for 'Contract For Difference'.
With CFD you are not physically buying the underlying stock, but have an exposure to the price movement of that stock.
For example, if you buy an Apple CFD at $130 and sell at $140 then you will receive the $10 difference.
On the contrary, if you buy a CFD at $130 and sell at $120 then you pay the $10 difference.
